2015 Slurry Seal Project

Preventive Maintenance is an important part of a pavement management program and a cost-effective treatment to slow down the deterioration of city streets. Because the existing asphalt is not removed before the protective slurry is applied, only streets that are still in good condition can be treated. The roadway's useful life is extended for about five to seven years.

The following street segments make up the 2015 Project
         (click for map)

  • 24th Street:  Macdonald Ave to Barrett Ave

  • Juliga Woods St:  S 31st St to I-580 Ramp
  • Northshore Dr:  Regatta Blvd to South End
  • Schooner Dr: Northshore Dr to Esplanade Dr

Fresh pavement markings are also installed, and some streets receive updated traffic striping in accordance with the city's Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plans.
