All Richmond Public Library branches open to in-person service
Bayview and West Side resume service June 22nd
The Bayview and West Side branch libraries will resume in-person services on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Patrons are able to browse shelves, borrow materials, and use computers, printers, and copiers for up to one hour. For patrons needing additional time to use a computer, the Library has laptops and WiFi hotspots that can be checked out for home use.
RPL Express Service Guidelines:
The Library requests that all patrons wear masks while in Library buildings in order to protect those who cannot currently be vaccinated. The face covering must cover the mouth and nose.
The Library will have limited capacity, including limited computer availability.
Once the Library reaches capacity, patrons will be allowed in on a 1-out, 1-in basis.
The Children's Room will operate as a separate location. Patrons will not be allowed to move between the Main Reading Room and the Children's Room. Staff can retrieve material for patrons from either location.
The Mezzanine stacks will remain closed to the public. Mezzanine materials can be retrieved by staff.
Newspapers will be unavailable until further notice.
There will be no seating within the Library except for patrons actively using a computer.
Public restrooms will be available. Water fountains are unavailable until further notice.
Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available while supplies last.
Sanitizing wipes will be available for shared computer equipment.
Library services will expand as public health guidance allows.
