The Richmond Wellness Trail is a safe, inviting, multimodal route that inspires a healthy, active lifestyle – increasing connections between historic Downtown Richmond, the Iron Triangle, and the natural and historic features of the waterfront and the Rosie the Riveter visitor center. Construction of Phase 1, which runs from BART to MLK Park on 16th Street and Marina Way South, began at the end of April 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2022.

Improvements include

  • New bike lanes
  • Improved sidewalks for safe, equitable transportation
  • Rain gardens to clean our community’s water
  • New street trees to build Richmond’s urban forest
  • Interpretive and wayfinding signage.
