As part of the 2021/22 Fiscal Year budget, the City Council approved the funding recommendations of the Reimagining Public Safety Initiative, including those related to unhoused interventions.  The funding was targeted to SOS’s Shower Services and Streets Team and the creation of a Transitional Village.  Safe Organized Spaces (SOS!) Richmond, a program of Rebuilding Together East Bay-North (RTEBN), provides outreach and supports unsheltered people who reside in encampments across the City of Richmond. SOS provides debris pickup at multiple locations throughout the city, and provides food, water, tents, tarps, and other emergency supplies and services for the unsheltered population.
