The city stopped maintaining Fairmede Park for past few years. There is gross Vegetation and Twenty dead trees that can fall injuring kids walking to school or park goers
The city could be liable for fire damage to private property due to neglect.
Three trees have fallen over this year 2016
Fairmede Park is larger and connected to the Elementary School, Compared to Hilltop Green Park

Restoring & Creating Opportunities for Involvement in the sport of Wrestling
Champion for the privileges & opportunities of wrestlers of the Richmond California area to be restored. In doing so, facilitating families of this worthy Community into the sport. Help build a foundation for a self-sustaining, functional, prosperous wrestling Institution in the Greater Richmond CA Area. Work to facilitate the self perpetuation of the sport. The sport of wrestling makes great men & women of all ages, shapes, size, ethnicity, & wealth. My current goal is to boost community awareness to the disposition of the sport in the Richmond Ca Area, as well as to have a healthy wrestling program be fully reinstated by offering head coaches & finding all necessary participation in the West Contra Costa Unified School Districts 6 main public high schools.
Building a self perpetual, strong foundation for the sport will allow members of the community to enjoy the family activities that the sport offers.

Rename Marina Bay, which does not give you a sense of place, to this: Ohlone Bay Marina and Yacht Club, Richmond CA. Use the "Star" emblem already in use, or have a logo contest for a new symbol that captures the imagination of the entire bay area. Create an "enterprise zone that stretches from the I-580 freeway to the bay edge. Make Richmond known for holistic health, sports and fitness and a steward of the trades. Invite schools of all descriptions to relocate in Richmond. Not every child is destined for a 4 year college. Have those student enter the service industry: barbers, machinists, cosmetologists and so forth. Vocational arts. Marine-related businesses. Sailing centers. Richmond needs more dreamers who can imagine a robust city that accommodates all income levels. Alcohol and Drug Recovery Programs. Kaiser teaching hospital. Programs to assist people getting back on their feet. Incubators for people to launch their own businesses. A city of opportunity to begin anew. Phoenix.

Start by getting in touch with the museum and ask them if they would be interested in your special unique local historical treasures &or knowledge. Then donate artifacts or create & submit an exhibit for the Museum. It is a magical, peaceful, educational, fun family bonding activity.
The Richmond Museum of History is located roughly six blocks from BART and one block from AC Transit 72 line in the heart of downtown Richmond and is proud to be the oldest organization in West Contra Costa County dedicated to preserving local history. The Richmond Museum is housed in a Carnegie Library and owns the most significant collection of historical material and documents in the local area. The permanent collection was established in 1950 and is comprised of a variety of materials including textiles, fine art, archaeological collections, historical artifacts, documents, photographs. The Museum staff is small but what we lack in capacity, we far make up for in enthusiasm and love for our work.

The Richmond Museum of History was established in order to operate as a history room in the basement of the City of Richmond’s Carnegie Library finished in 1910. The building became a branch library in 1949 after World War II dramatically changed the demography of Richmond and then a children’s library in the 1960s. In the early 1980s, the Carnegie Library underwent an extensive renovation in order to convert the building into a space that was suitable for a local museum. The City of Richmond retains ownership of the Carnegie Library and allows the RMA to operate a museum here.

Examine what's working around the Bay in terms of quality of life, environment, infrastructure and government. Example: adopt the "Bicycle Blvd." program pioneered in Berkeley. End the tyranny of the automobile. Make Richmond pedestrian/bicycle friendly. Invite schools of instruction in blue collar trades to our city. Plant trees, bushes, shrubs and flowers to attract butterflies, hummingbirds and honeybees. This will support the entire bay ecosystem. Rework the BART line from El Cerrito Del Norte to an elevated trackway and rebuild the Richmond BART/Amtrak Intermodal Station in the same vein as the Millbrae BART/CalTrain Station: move operations to ground level. No more mole tunnels. Build more housing developments like the Idaho Apartments/Rubicon Housing. Extend BART/The Ohlone Greenway to Hilltop Mall, or at least to Contra Costa College. How about an IMAX theater near the marina similar to the facility at Great America in Santa Clara?

Today there is an article in the New York Times about how Los Angeles is creating housing for veterans. ("As Homelessness Plagues LA, Success Comes for Veterans").
Last week, I passed by many boarded up houses on Stenmark Drive on my way up to the San Pablo Yacht Harbor and wondered at the waste of these empty houses when so many were so desperate for a roof over their heads.
I looked on the County's GIS map to see who owned the property - I see no real reason why Richmond cannot make this happen.
