Recently, my family and i have been being harassed by our landlord of 33 years and have been extremely frustrated because we keep getting "there is nothing we can do to help you because its a single family home". The city complains homelessness is an issue in Richmond but allow landlords to over run their tenants like this and watch more and more families become homeless. STOP ONLY HELPING APARTMENTS, DUPLEX'S AND ETC. HELP EVERYONE. TO ME THIS IS DISCRIMINATION AND NOT A WAY TO HAVE A COMMUNITY.

Shoppers of the Macdonald 80 Shopping Center exit the center and easily cut straight through 44th street--to quickly get on the 80 south. They do this instead of turning left on Macdonald, making a right on 37th, and right onto Barrett; all main city streets. This poses a major safety problem for residents who live along 44th street. Drivers regularly exceed residential speed limits, going up to 40 mph. It has become so hazardous that children are at risk when playing outside. There needs to be a reciprocal on-ramp for the increased traffic to this area, where Target shoppers can easily get on back on the 80 from MacDonald (as posted in Infrastructure and Environmental Improvements). And, in the interim, we need speed bumps along this street to provide residents mitigation from this obvious safety hazard of traffic racing through the street.

Instead of the city giving out citations for street sweeping, it should give out citations for parking on the lawns, so that we can maintain some sort of beauty in our city. The city is looking more and more ghetto with very low standard of livings.

The lane changes on Barret have made life on residential streets extremely dangerous for anyone living on ALL the cross streets in the city of Richmond. Drivers do not want to wait in all the traffic backup on Barret and now use residential streets to cut across the city. The disregard for people living here is getting out of hand as drivers speed through our neighborhoods. We especially have a problem at the corner of 38th and Cerrito. Drivers NEVER stop at the stop signs as they cut through town. Never mind that we have a elementary school, day care and park all with 2 blocks of the intersection. You are taking your life in your hands if you are a pedestrian on our streets. I'd like to see something put in place on this street that would curb this increasingly dangerous habit and I'd like to see more policing of the stop sign, especially during the morning and evening commute hours. The neighbors who live here have called the police many, many, many times but nothing is ever done.

Today there is an article in the New York Times about how Los Angeles is creating housing for veterans. ("As Homelessness Plagues LA, Success Comes for Veterans"). Last week, I passed by many boarded up houses on Stenmark Drive on my way up to the San Pablo Yacht Harbor and wondered at the waste of these empty houses when so many were so desperate for a roof over their heads. I looked on the County's GIS map to see who owned the property - I see no real reason why Richmond cannot make this happen.

I would like to suggest asking Chevron and the oil companies to paint the oil tanks brown so they blend in with the landscape. On the Chevron campus, they have painted some brown and they are not such an eye sore. Given how Point Richmond is developing and being beautified, it is Richmond’s showpiece as to urban renewal but the oil industry stands out like a sore thumb of toxicity. At least if we need to have the oil companies in our backyard, at least they should try to blend in (literally).

Monterey park on Monterey St is in need of some updates. There is so much wasted space here. Big sandy volleyball court goes unused. Only one play structure and it's for toddlers. Please switch the volleyball court to bigger play structure for older children or something worthwhile. Kids get bored playing at this park because there is not enough to keep them interested or interactive. If you care about the youth in the city and beyond, we must ensure they have places to play and grow. This park does not do that.

It's got to the point where he parks on my driveway I can't go in or out and when I go and complain he tells me to wait. This should be prohibited, use ur driveway!!

Please create programs to discount people to install security caera in the neigborhood. Richmond is one of the most dangerous city. In order to change the environment and to provide a better environment, richmond residence should install camera and govt should build a cloud camera storage, and share the infor with richmond Police Office. To hire more polices are super expensive, but to install camera, we can monitor streets 24 hours. With discount, it would encourage people to do it. And residence will also pay lower monthly payment to keep service. To have security cameras, would provide alerts before to people before they decide to commite crime.

There is no discount when people try to take bus and transfer to Bart, and there is no monthly ticket to help people reduce their pressure on commuting to work. Richmond has a very high property tax rate (around 1.8%). Since we are paying a very high amount of tax, will the city be able to ultilize this amount to help people to reduce commute spending pressure? If the city is really trying to promote green energy and/or saving energy, the city should really take the first step to help residences. The bart ticket and bus ticket prices are getting more and more expensive, to encourage people not to drive, but to take public transportation, please provide discounts on tickets. Or please give discounts to use sharing bikes for free.
