The "Richmond City Council Meetings" are primarily held on 1st, 3rd and 4th Tuesday evenings.

The meetings are held at the renovated City Hall location, located at 440 Civic Center Plaza. Richmond CA (near the Richmond Auditorium, City Hall, and Richmond Main Branch of the Library). The chambers are in the former Hall of Justice building.

As of January 28, 2020, the Mayor is Tom Butt and Vice Mayor is Nathaniel BatesCouncil members are Ben Choi, Demnlus Johnson III, Eduardo Martinez, Jael Myrick, and Melvin Willis.

The Housing Authority Tenant Commissioners are Jaycine Scott and Vacant Position.
