During the first year of Love Your Block, we awarded 10 mini-grants of $1,000 and provided in-kind support to 1 additional project. Check them out below!

Alicia used photography to address issues of public concern and to tell stories of community life.

Volunteers planted flowers and plants in a North Richmond community garden.

Carla and Sequoia's team worked to clean up Wildcat Creek in North Richmond, create a mobile mural, and facilitate EcoArt activities.

Urban Tilth expanded their campaign against illegal dumping along the Richmond Greenway,

Neighbors painted benches in Braxton Park, picked up trash, and planted low-growing vegetation.

Azia Banagan led three art classes and displayed the art in the Fall Art in Windows event hosted by Richmond Main Street Initiative.

Richmond Main Street Initiative organized a sidewalk chalk art activity, a district-wide clean-up, and a trash can installation.

Residents teamed up to plant drought resistant plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs, install public seating, and install 4 raised garden boxes.

Residents mulched Lucky A's baseball field in North Richmond and sanded and painted the bleachers.

Neighbors came together to pull weeds and plant native foliage along the Parchester Village entrance sign.

Roxanne got together with local high school students to plant flowers in the planter boxes along Fred Jackson Way in North Richmond.
