Structure
Richmond’s Government operates on the Council-Manager system. The
City Council has 7 members elected at large to alternating 4-year terms.
The
Mayor is elected at large and is a member of the City Council.
The Council appoints a
City Manager to be responsible for carrying out the policies of the City Council and to manage the City's departments and program activities.
