The Code Enforcement Division is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life in the City of Richmond by enforcing provisions of the Richmond Municipal Code related to neighborhood and property standards.

What we Inspect
Code Enforcement Officers investigate a wide range of neighborhood complaints, including, but not limited to:
- Vacant and/or abandoned properties
- Junk, debris, garbage on private property
- Overgrown vegetation
- Inoperable and/or abandoned vehicles on private property
- Unapproved parked vehicles on private property
- Bed bug infestation
- Graffiti abatement on private property
- Business license enforcement
- Zoning violations
- Illegal dumping on private property
- Illegal or unpermitted fences
- Illegal or unpermitted signs
