Borrow a Mobile Device

The Richmond Public Library lends WiFi hotspots and laptops!

WiFiTransHotspots, Chromebooks, and laptop computers are available to residents who need to get online to

  • file taxes
  • book a vacation
  • apply for benefits
  • look for work
  • complete schoolwork
  • check their email

Hotspots, Chromebooks, and laptops are available for loan periods of 1 day or 7 days. Loan periods may be renewed twice unless the device is on hold for another patron.

To get started: 

Borrowers must be 18+, have a library account in good standing, and complete, sign, and agree to the Mobile Device Borrowing Agreement (available below). The Agreement may be returned to the Library in person or by email.

Failure to return the device when due can result in

  • termination of service to the device(s)
  • charging of replacement fees for the device(s)
  • suspension of library account and privileges
  • the device(s) being reported stolen
