The Richmond Planning Commission (TPC) prepares, adopts, and maintain a long range comprehensive General Plan for the physical growth and development of the City of Richmond and areas related directly to the City of Richmond. TPC also prepares and adopts plans for the conservation or clearance, rebuilding and redevelopment of those areas of the City of Richmond suffering from blighted conditions. In addition, TPC serves as an advisory body to the City Council on matters related to the city's growth and development and on such other matters as may be requested by the Richmond City Council.
As of the September 1, 2022 meeting, David Tucker is Chair, Jonathan Harrison is Vice Chair, and Bruce Brubaker is Secretary. Other members of the Planning commission are Alpa Agarwal, Masoomeh Sharifi Soofiani, and Jen Loy.
