23039 - McBryde Safe Routes to Park (OBAG 3)

Preliminary Design

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project will improve traffic safety for all users as a Safe Route to Parks project. The project will include installation of traffic calming, bicycle lanes, pedestrian ramp facilities, asphalt paving, sidewalk, and signing and striping. 37th St to Park Ave will feature Class II and III bike lanes.

The goal of this project is to provide a safe and comfortable walking and biking route from Wildcat Canyon Regional Park to the amenities and bus service along San Pablo Ave and an existing crosstown bike route on 37th St. Project will improving pavement condition, calm traffic, add audible pedestrian signals, restripe the roadway with bike lanes, and build curb ramps, high visibility crosswalks, and other pedestrian improvements. If funded, design will be finalized with community input, and additional protected bike lanes are possible.

Community Outreach

Community Meeting 11/8/25

The City invites residents to provide input on the planned redesign of McBryde Avenue from Wildcat Canyon Regional Park to 37th Street. The project aims to enhance safety and accessibility for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

This is an open house format—attendees may arrive at any time during the event. City staff and project team members will be available to discuss plans, answer questions, and gather community feedback that will inform the final design.
