Richmond YouthBUILD is designed to empower young adults by providing them with valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry; while also ensuring they complete their high school education. Our program focuses on skills development, leadership, career readiness, and equipping students with the tools they need for a successful transition into the workforce.

Key Program Highlights:

  • Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training: Students gain an industry-recognized credential and certifications in areas such as OSHA, HAZ 40, and CPR.

  • High School Diploma/GED Support: We provide academic support, tutoring, and flexible scheduling to help students complete their high school diploma or GED via our academic partner John Muir Charter School.

  • Job Placement Assistance: Throughout their time in the program, participants receive work experience opportunities to build their employability and interpersonal skills. They also receive guidance with qualifying and applying to the union of their choice, helping them secure long-term career opportunities in the construction sector.

This program could be a great fit for young adults who have 80 credits or less remaining and seeking a hands-on learning experience while working toward their academic and career goals. However, all are encouraged to apply.

The program is committed to placing 100% percent of its graduates at self-sustaining wages.
